Junior Animal Carer Experience
Calling all animal lovers aged between 8 and 15 years old!
Whether you’re a budding animal carer of the future, or are simply mad about animals, our Junior Animal Carer Experience will give you the perfect opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary with your very own expert guide.
Become part of our animal care team and take care of our big cats, farm animals, primates, reptiles, wallabies and more. Enjoy close encounters with our lemurs, meerkats and minibeasts, and help to give our rescued lions or tigers their toys!
Every Junior Animal Carer Experience is slightly different, but each one will offer you an amazing chance to step into the role of an animal carer and learn more about what they do as you assist with their duties. During this experience, you will help to prepare food for our animals, clean out our lemur house, and have an exclusive behind the scenes encounter with one of our lemur groups. You will also be able to join our meerkat mob as you feed them their lunch, before heading over to our big cat habitats to arrange their enrichment activities for the day.
As an experience participant, you will need to be accompanied throughout by a parent or guardian, who will not take part in the experience but will be able to watch you undertaking your duties. A comfort break, including a snack and a drink in our Wildheart Café, is included for the experience participant. After your experience, you are more than welcome to spend the rest of your day at the Sanctuary – and, if time allows, you can also return within 7 days for just £1 per person. What great value!

Please note: this experience is also available for two children. Two parents or guardians will be able to accompany the children throughout the experience, but will not be able to participate in the activities. Adult admission fee applies.
