Online Talk - The rescue that made history: Benji & Balu - The Whole Story
Over 3,000 miles. Two rescued bears. One historic mission.
In June 2025, something extraordinary happened.
For the first time ever, two bears were rescued from Azerbaijan and given a second chance at life here at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary.
Benji and Balu's story is one of the most ambitious and challenging rescues our team has ever undertaken. From negotiating their release and planning an international rescue mission, to building a brand-new 3,500 square metre habitat and transporting the bears more than 3,000 miles across Europe, this was a journey that captured international attention and changed the lives of two bears forever.
Now, for the very first time, we're inviting our members to go behind the scenes and hear the full story directly from the people who made it happen - all from the comfort of your own home!
The rescue that made history: Benji & Balu - The Whole Story
